The first week of my last semester of college has come and gone. It all went rather smoothly. I only have 2 classes, of 9 credits. I am really excited about my senior practicum class. In this class we are assigned a class at an elementary school in the area that we go and teach at. I was really nervous at first, but after my first day there I feel like I can handle it. I was assigned kindergarten! There about 50 students in my AM and PM classes combined. Lots of students to remember information about. But they are all wonderful and are excited for me to be there. I carpool with 3 others to Idaho Falls. The school name is Discovery Elementary, its brand new! There a lot of young teachers there that have graduated from BYU-Idaho. So they all tell me stories when we are eating lunch in the teachers lounge. Its GREAT!!
The funniest thing happened when I was introducing myself to the students. I was telling them all of my favorites, like color, food, etc. After I was done, there were all able to ask me questions. This one little girl raised her hand and told me that she didn't like Chinese food like I do. She quickly stated what she likes..."I like to eat dog food. Sometimes cat food, but mostly dog food!" She was dead serious. The class giggled a little, but she didn't care. I told her that she probably shouldn't eat dog or cat food. Its not good for her. She just kept on smiling and saying she liked dog food. It just made my day!
Pictures to follow of my students, school, and classroom!

It's so awesome that you're teaching! Fun and satisfying, yet stressful and a Lot of work! Do you know or kind of have a plan as to where you'll be after graduation?
