Dogsledding in Dyea

So many opportunities come when living here in Alaska. Last week on our day off, my roomies and I went out on a tour. We got comped on the afternoon dog sledding tour in Dyea which is a town 20 minutes north west of Skagway. We had a great time on the tour. We got to hold the new puppies, be pulled by a team of 16 dogs, learn all about the Iditarod and sledding.

Savvi and Patches

Iris are in full bloom out on the flats of Dyea

The dogs were so well behavied. At this time all of the other dogs
were on top of their kennels barking but Buzz just kept sleeping.
Im wearing an authentic jacket for a musher. The biggest jacket ever!

Here is our team at the start of the run

Just enjoying the ride

Waiting on the bus before the tour (we were a little bored)

The beautiful place I get to see every morning when I wake up

Fun! So I work for that company and I have never been to dog camp. Oops!
